This is Hainan’s most mature cycling route with complete supporting facilities. The dedicated Coastal Tourism Road features bike lanes, clear signage, rest stops and scenic viewing platforms all along the way. Ride past endless coconut groves, golden beaches and turquoise sea. Well-developed coastal towns offer easy access to restaurants, cafes and local seafood.
This 6-night /7-day Hainan east coast cycling journey starts in Haikou and finishes in Sanya. The route follows Hainan’s famous Coastal Tourism Road, a purpose-built sightseeing corridor with comprehensive infrastructure. You will pass coconut forests, white-sand beaches, fishing villages and tropical seaside towns. The dedicated bikeway keeps cyclists safely separated from motor traffic, with frequent rest areas, toilets and viewing points.
The itinerary is thoughtfully paced, with daily distances ranging from 60–85km and plenty of stops for photos and sightseeing. The towns along the route have full amenities for meals and refreshments.
This tour is fully operated by our local Hainan cycling team, with intimate knowledge of every stop and accommodation along the coastline. Our full tour support handles all logistics, so you can relax and enjoy the tropical coastal scenery. Conclude your cycling adventure in Sanya’s stunning Haitang Bay.
Daily cycling distances range from 60km to 85km. The route features gentle rolling terrain with no steep mountain climbs. Suitable for recreational cyclists who can comfortably ride 60–85km on flat or gently undulating roads. Full support vehicle accompanies the group.
The route stays close to sea level, elevation mostly between 0–70 m except Day 4 from Wanning to Sanya: elevation gain 430 m, with matching elevation loss of 420 m.
The main route follows Hainan Coastal Tourism Road, with dedicated cycling lanes. Smooth asphalt pavement, well maintained. Very little heavy traffic. Clear route signs, public restrooms and scenic rest stops along the whole route. Short sections of quiet local village roads.
November – March Mild temperatures, low rainfall and clear skies for comfortable cycling.
May – October: Not recommended Hot weather, strong UV, frequent rain and possible typhoons.

We carefully select comfortable local hotels and boutique inns for this tour, with daily breakfast included. All rooms are private twin or double occupancy. A single supplement applies if you prefer your own private room. Some properties offer laundry machines. Hotel upgrades are available upon request at an additional cost.
It depends on the group's pace. We schedule regular rest stops every 60–90 minutes for water, snacks and electrolyte drinks, typically after long steep climbs or before extended downhill sections. We also include longer lunch breaks.
Yes, non-riding guests can join the tour. They travel in the support vehicle and share the same accommodation and meals. A separate non-rider rate applies.
Yes, the support vehicle is equipped with a well-stocked first-aid kit. Our guides are trained in basic first aid.
Our support vehicle is on hand. You may hop into the support car and continue with the group to the next stop with no penalty.
We do not include travel insurance in the package. We strongly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel and cycling insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation and trip cancellation before departure
Our support team carries spare parts and tools. Minor repairs will be done on site. If the bike cannot be fixed, we will provide a replacement bike.
Safety is our top priority. In the event of severe weather, we may adjust the route, shorten the riding distance, or re-plan the ride day within your travel window. Any resulting cost changes will depend on the specific arrangements and could be higher or lower.
We accept bank transfer, credit card payments and selected online payment platforms. A deposit is required to secure your booking, with balance due 30-60 days before the tour starts.
