About this tour

Pedaling Through the Soul of Southwest Yunnan: Culture, Challenge, and Comfort

Chapter 1: The Route – A Cultural Corridor

This isn’t just a bike ride; it’s a deep dive into the soul of Southwest Yunnan. Over 7 days, we cycle approximately 500 kilometers from the tropical city of Mangshi to the vibrant heart of Xishuangbanna. This journey takes you off the beaten path and into the ancient homelands of the Wa and Lahu ethnic minorities. You will witness a dramatic shift in landscapes—from the golden pagodas of Dehong to the misty tea mountains of Lancang, and finally into the tropical rainforests of Jinghong. It’s a route designed for those who crave both physical challenge and profound cultural immersion.

Chapter 2: The Experience – Culture & Nature

Prepare to be transported back in time. We visit two of Yunnan’s most iconic cultural landmarks: the Wengding Primitive Tribe, known as the “last primitive tribe in China,” where traditional stilt houses dot the landscape, and the Wengji Ancient Village in the Jingmai Mountains, a UNESCO heritage site famous for its ancient tea plantations. Beyond the bikes, you will experience the rich biodiversity of the region, riding through rubber plantations, bamboo forests, and along winding mountain roads that offer panoramic views of the valleys below. This is where the scent of tea leaves meets the thrill of the open road.

Chapter 3: Service & Logistics – Premium Support

We believe hard rides deserve soft landings. After conquering 100km of rolling hills, you won’t be roughing it. We provide “Light Luxury” boutique hotel accommodations for all 6 nights, ensuring a comfortable recovery. Our support vehicle follows closely, carrying your luggage and offering a lift if the legs give out. With 17 meals included and daily supplies of fresh fruit and energy drinks, plus high-coverage insurance (up to ¥800,000), we handle the logistics so you can focus purely on the ride.
